Northway's 20th birthday was celebrated at Sapiehas Palace with famous guests

On Thursday evening, around 100 guests gathered at the Sapiehas Palace in Vilnius to celebrate the 20th birthday of the „Northway Group“. Today, the group crosses not only national borders but also the ocean that separates continents – „Northway“ successfully develops science and business projects in Lithuania, Latvia, the United Kingdom, and the USA.

"Why are the life sciences so interesting and engaging? They offer a wonderful opportunity to participate in the evolution of humanity as knowledge and creativity are transformed into progress, bringing us closer to our eternal desire to live longer and better. Evolution is a perpetual movement forward, a constant improvement and adaptation to a changing environment. The ability to change, adapt, and innovate is a vector for successful business. For twenty years, we have not stopped moving, learning, sharing knowledge, and finding answers at the same time. Our ambitions have also evolved - today, we are developing and implementing projects that seemed fantastic 40 years ago when biotechnology took its first steps in Lithuania or 20 years ago when "Northway" was established. But evolution is always characterized by that - you can never predict what breathtaking things it will eventually lead to," said Vladas Algirdas Bumelis, Chairman of the Board of "Northway Biotech", academician, during the ceremony.

"As we celebrate 20 years of "Northway" medical centres, we are deeply grateful to our employees and long-term partners who are integral to our success. Thanks to their professionalism and sincere cooperation, we have earned the recognition of our patients, which has allowed us to grow and continuously improve. We are delighted to celebrate together and to embark on new, even more ambitious milestones," says Diana Bumelytė, CEO of "Northway" medical centres.

The event was attended by well-known guests, “Northway Biotech” partners from the USA and Western Europe.

The guests gathered at the celebration shared common memories and discussed the achievements of the development of biotechnology in Lithuania and worldwide. At the same time, they drew attention to the unique setting of the event - the restored spaces of Sapiehas Palace.  Before the birthday celebrations began, the guests were introduced to the history of the Sapiehas Residence of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, dating back to the 17th century. "Northway" is helping to preserve this important monument of architecture, art, and history by renovating the frescoes in the palace with the support of the Group.

Under the frescoes of the palace, the host of the event, Edmundas Jakilaitis, invited the Chairman of the Board of “Northway Biotech“, Prof. V. A. Bumelis, for a discussion on the evolution of biotechnology in Lithuania and worldwide.

After listening to the professor's insights, the guests were invited to enjoy a special "Northway" birthday dinner prepared by Chef Andrius Kubilius, the owner of the first "Michelin" star in Lithuania, who invited them to indulge in "Molecular Engineering", where he helped each of the guests to discover and combine their combinations of different ingredients.

The mood and theme of the celebration were reflected throughout the event. The creative part of the birthday celebration was concluded by the performer Gabrielė Vilkickytė, who continued the motifs of the evolution of feelings with her music in the palace spaces.
